Boom Box Audio is a small sound company located in Madison Wisconsin which has recently begun providing services again. We provide services for individual bands, festivals and other indoor and outdoor events.
We work with a small client base and our specialty is getting to know the sound of the band and providing consistently good quality audio.
We have over 35 years of audio experience and know how to mix most styles of music and how to deal with most audio situations. We've handled rock, country, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, hard rock/metal, folk music, and polka bands.
We have experience with sound design for theatrical productions and have handled other types of events such as variety shows. Yes, it's true, we've even done a choir. However I'd have to say the most unusual show we've ever done was the time we provided services for the "Chip N Dales" Deer Widow's Weekend show at Dream Lanes.
We have experience with sound for television. Within the last three years we have provided services for several episodes of "Urban Theatre" on WISC-TV. We have remote recording capability and used it to create 24 track recordings of the performances.
Our experience goes back several decades in the Madison music scene. We've worked with numerous bands since the 70s. Names include "Punch", "Falcon", "Toys", "Johnny Law", "JC and Legend", "Whiz Kid", "The Cheeters", "Picture This", "The Rage", "Power Play" and "Little Vito and the Torpedos".
We've also done quite a bit of work with nationally established bands over the years. Some of them are "Canned Heat", "Foghat", "Head East", "Savoy Brown", "Steppenwolf", "Rick Derringer", "Robin Trower", "Molly Hatchet", and "Black Oak Arkansas".
Acts we have worked with within the last year include "Nerve Tonic", "Poor Rich Kids", "Chameleon", "Hazmat", "The Sun Dogs", "The Mud Angels", "Pulled from a Hat", and "Stick Dog".
So if you are tired of having audio where the loudest thing in the mix is the bass drum, you can't hear the backup singers, your country band sounds like death metal (or your metal band sounds like a country band!), you can't hear the guitar solos, you're getting shocks everytime you touch the mic, the pa has a buzz in it all night, or the keyboards can't be heard, then we may be the company for you.
We also offer lighting and have a full lighting system complete with a truss and crank up towers, a fog machine, a black backdrop, dimmers, and a power distribution system. Moving lights are also available.
